What is Reiki?

Oh!  I am SO glad you asked!

Reiki is a Japanese healing art whereby the practitioner transmits energy to the recipient, often by the gentle laying-on of hands. Reiki works with and improves all of the energy systems of the recipient.
At Birdsong Healing Arts my goal is to restore balance in your physical body, calm your emotional mind and allow you to enter a deeper form of consciousness and connect with your center.
Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of healing and self-improvement that everyone can use and enjoy. Considered to be a complementary health care technique, it also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Chronic conditions usually require multiple sessions and the more a person experiences Reiki the more they seem to benefit.

Reiki is meant to serve as part of a healthy lifestyle that promotes balance and beneficial choices in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of one's life. This practice should not replace other methods of medical care but may be suitable as complementary support for various physical, emotional, and mental illnesses or conditions.

*Please note that Reiki does not promote one spiritual, religious, or another belief system over another nor does practice require faith in the outcome or specific religious beliefs in order to be successful.

“Healing energy, whether produced by a medical device or projected from the human body is the energy of a particular frequency or set of frequencies that stimulates the repair of one or more tissues.”

  1. I've only had reiki done at yoga classes. I would love to go for a full session some time.
